Sixth edition of Skopje Design Week this year will be held from 23rd to 27th November at the Center of design Public Room in Skopje.
Considering the intensive development of the individual designers’ initiatives and practices in the region in the last couple of years, the motto of the sixth edition of Skopje Design Week is Blooming Makers and aims to additionally encourage and support the young aspiring brands to better establish themselves on domestic and foreign markets. Among the more recognizable Blooming makers this year are: Rinocca, We and Nature and Almost Furniture by the Bulgarian design and architecture studio dontDIY featured earlier this year during ONE DESIGN WEEK in Plovdiv.
The main program of Skopje Design Week retains the already tried recipe of multilayered platform that enables promotion, presentation, education, cuisine and entertainment. The country in focus of this edition of the festival is Austria showcasing 28 brands, design studios and individual designers in one exhibition.
Regarding the local context there will be presentation of Zoran Jedrejcic, one of the most successful designers in the region, who will introduce the concept of the Belgrade Furniture Fair, Маja Lalic together with Aleksandar Velinovski will introduce the platform Balkan Design Network, and its recent activities.
