Bloctown

An Interactive Piece by Revolution Tables

Matthew Martin and the multidisciplinary design studio Revolution Tables prepare a space encouraging free building and design thinking for the festival. The installation consists of the studio’s hand selected and milled pattern blocs that inspirе participants to create.
The interactive exhibition will be built during the festival by anyone willing to join in and create with the wooden Bloctown Blocs. The participants will become co-authors. There is no age limit; children and adults can build together. The possibilities and interpretations are endless within the participants’ imaginations.
For the event, the studio has created two building platforms that serve as construction sites. These separate spaces consist of the studio’s own furniture, so that everyone can be comfortable and build with the supplied wooden blocs.
A curious detail is that the whole process of creating and its outcome will be documented. The authors’ intention behind the project is to foster and develop design and spatial thinking in all involved.
