Lava Lemonade

The Polish designer Ola Mirеcka graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. At the same time she is part of the PG13 platform, led by the product designer Tomek Rygalic (a guest of Design Week 2012, 2013), where she is responsible for different design events like the preparation of experimental tasks, exhibition projects and workshops, as well as organizing competitions and projects in partnership with the industry. After finishing her education in Poland, Ola moved to London where she earned an MA in product design from the Royal College of Art, under the guidance of Daniel Charny and Roberto Feo. In her work, she often treats the subject of drawing through three dimensional objects, performances, narratives and moving paintings. The leading feature of her practice is interactive design, through which she aims to fill in the empty space between designer and consumer. Presntly she works as a designer for LEGO in Denmark. At ONE DESIGN WEEK, she will be presenting her project LAVA, which is a space for fun that takes us back to our childhood and shows her approach to design, strongly influenced by the drawing and the illustration. She invites visitors of the festival to a glass of freshly made lemonade, served in glasses especially designed for the project.
