The students from Werkplaats Typografie in Arnhem organize a 4 day workshop for collaborative work with their colleagues from the National Art Academy in Sofia. Typography and graphics will be the focus of the activities. The aim is to begin a discussion between the students of the two educational institutions, based on the context in which students of both establishments work day to day in their respective countries. The working model will be an adaptation of a text or painting, while the tools given are the Latin and Cyrillic alphabets. Exploring the potential significance of modernism in a new context will be achieved through different exercises and experiments. The result of their collaboration will be shown during the ONE DESIGN WEEK 2016 exhibition. Students from both schools will present their ways of working and the experiences gained through the finalized projects.
