Joy Mardini Design Gallery in association with Beirut Art Residency (BAR) has announced the Open Call for the inaugural edition of render design residency in Beirut. This project aims to foster experimentation and collaboration between local and international designers.
Three international designers will be selected to participate in the residency and will be introduced to Beirut-based designers selected by Joy Mardini Design Gallery. Based on the individual proposals and practice, the designers will be paired to work on a collaborative piece that responds to specific enquiries into the local design sphere. An admission committee comprised of key members of the Beirut design scene will determine the selection of candidates based on the quality of their proposals and scope of enquiry. The outcome of each collaborative effort will be unveiled during Beirut Design Week (May 19th – 26th, 2017).
Render will take place from March 30th to May 26th 2017 and the Application Deadline is January 15th, 2017.
