Design Canberra

Yasmin Masri arrives in Plovdiv to share cultural highlights from the Australian capital CANBERRA. Her interdisciplinary practices include crafts, design, curating, publishing and communications. Yasmin is interested in designing systems for creative participation and involving people representing different social groups. She is a co-founder and director of two of the newest cultural initiatives in CANBERRA, Australia: an independent publishing house for interdisciplinary story sharing RIP PUBLISHING (2013 г. -) and the festival for new and experimental literature Noted (2014 г. – ).

As a designer and curator, she has participated in a number of exhibitions, with the topic of collaboration between different publics being a key motivation of her work. For the past 2 years she has worked for DESIGN Canberra festival and the Australian design trianale. Yasmin has teached design in Australian National University School of Art and Canberra Institute of Technology.
