With the presentation “Environment and behaviour” Georgi Stankov aims to enlarge the public awareness of the interaction of these two variables, and to introduce some valuable research on this interdisciplinary topic.

Georgi Stankov is a social and developmental psychologist and a psychodrama director. He is involved in various community-based initiatives and local projects, like Jane’s Walk in the town of Haskovo and community organizing in the village of Chernichevo. One of his interests is environmental psychology – an intersection of psychology, design, urbanism, architecture, and anthropology. Environmental psychology explores the interrelation between the material environment and human behavior, as well the environment impact on individual and community well-being.

Georgi has been advocating for stronger citizen participation in the decision making process. He has written or co-written several papers on the issue of children’s participation in the process of creating children’s environment
