Designing policy for a better society

The Applied Research and Communications Fund (ARC Fund) is a non-profit organization founded in 1991 that actively supports the development and implementation of policies aimed at the development of a modern society based on knowledge, innovation and information technology. Since 2014 ARC Fund has been part of the initiative “Design for Europe” of the European Commission led by Design Council UK, which aims to stimulate use of design in innovation policies and build capacity for its implementation both in the public and private sectors.

Within ONE DESIGN WEEK, ARC Fund will hold a discussion on “Designing policy for a better society”. By putting the needs of the user first, design has the power to generate innovative and creative solutions to some of the public sector’s biggest problems. The aim of the event is to present the approach of several institutions at both the local and national levels during the process of developing and implementing public policies in different areas. The audience will have the opportunity to discuss how citizens can become more actively involved in the design of new public policies.
